I am a self-taught painter and am constantly searching for new ways to reflect - in this case, literally - the world around me. I am drawn to the colors of autumn, and the way the light plays upon the leaves. This is one of two paintings I worked on together specifically to challenge myself to reflect on water, sky, land and their colors in the way they only come together in the Fall.
