Flowers are my inspiration. I've always been intrigued how many clustered petals can make such a luscious flower. The scale of the painting magnifies the often-overlooked details of the hydrangea bloom. I chose this flower not only for its beauty, but for its color richness as its colors change with the soil, revealing its environment.
