Robert Klausing is an artist from Butler, Missouri. Mr. Klausing is a retired high school art teacher, having worked 27 years as an art teacher and coach in the Lee's Summit R-7 School District and 4 years in Nebraska high schools. He was also an adjunct instructor at Longview Community College for 4 years. His current landscape work consists of images inspired by the land and environment around his current rural residence near Spruce, Missouri. Mr. Klausing works in a variety of media including Acrylic, Pastel, Watercolor and Oil. Most recently, Mr. Klausing has earned Best-of-Show recognition at the 2019 Images Art Gallery juried exhibition and has had work selected for the Missouri Watercolor Society International Exhibition in 2020, Silver Medal Award winner at the 2021 Red River Watercolor Society National Juried Exhibit, Merit Award Winner at 2022 Prairie Village State of the Art Exhibit and 2022 Watercolor USA exhibit . Although his work utilizes recognizable landscape imagery, he is most intrigued and motivated to create by the abstract patterns of light, color, value and texture that occur in different seasons and different times of the day.
